Beach near Miami

Beach near Miami

This was my first 'artsy' picture taken with my first digital camera 'Sony-707'. It was taken in May 2002. This picture is example of what imagination and Photoshop can do with very ordinary image. Originally this picture looked like the one on the left.
As you see there is nice looking building in the background that looks very futuristic, but not much more.
The building was on the South, it was 7am, so sun was on the East. It was past sunrise but sun was behind the clouds and looked intriguing. I took some pictures of the sky.

Below you can see the picture of the sky. The rest was Photoshop work.
I've placed the pictures on the layers. I've done some levels and saturation adjustments.

I had to use a little trick here, if I just overlaid the first picture with the second one, the sky would be on top of the building and the building would become invisible.
So I had to create a layer where I've placed the picture of the building which was selected from the first picture (you can see it below sky picture) and place it on top of the sky layer.
Also I had to add a layer with highlights on the water which I've copied from the sky picture.
All in all it turned out to be a nice picture of the summer morning on the beach.
