Hello and Welcome to my site!

I am photographer based in Brooklyn, New York.
I was born in Ukraine, since 1989 I live in the United States.

Currently I'm doing Black and White Fine Art Photography projects. I've chosen black & white because it allows me to concentrate on building balanced and rhythmical compositions without distraction of color. Nice feature of black and white photography is that it leaves a lot to imagination. Objects in black and white pictures look very different than in life making it easier to turn photograph into piece of fine art. And also I like black & white photographs.
My favorite photographers are Henri Cartier-Bresson and Andre Kertesz. These photographers considered "geometry" to be of the most importance in the picture. Under "geometry" they meant visual composition of the image that creates additional content in the image.
I consider myself to be follower of Russian photographer and writer Alexander Lapin who wrote bestselling in Russia book "Photography as...". In this book he analyses works of Cartier-Bresson, Kertesz and others and discusses in all details composition techniques that make their photographs so great. Following his ideas I consider my photography to be study of transformation of 3-dimensional space around us into 2-dimensional space of flat photographs that creates new connections, juxtapositions, new content.

My photographs make good gifts - whether black and white or color photographs. I keep my prices very low by doing all printing, matting and framing myself and buying all supplies from the warehouse. And with prices being so low I still deliver archival quality printing and framing by using high quality materials.
You can read more about me and my work and about Mr. Lapin's book in my blog.

This website also contains my color photographs taken in 2002-2007: landscapes, animals, still life and modeled images.
Here you can find info about my favorite places to take pictures, Photoshop tricks, tips how to make better pictures.
